This song is my response to the situation in Palestine, but also to the other many conflicts around the world.

There can be no winners in a war of revenge
only a grief that never ends
two wrongs will never make this right
and hope will fade away into the night.

Makes no difference which side you take
only forgiveness can heal this endless heartache
and you might think this is too easy for me to say
but that doesn't change the truth in any way.

All the children who will never grow old
all the elders sleeping out in the cold
all the soldiers who will never come home
all the lovers who now lie alone
all the tables with empty chairs
the families broken beyond repair
all the refugees who can never return
and all those lessons we never seem to learn.

Every day the news remains the same
no one will take the first step to make a change
and so the casualties continue to climb
and there is no end in sight.

So when will those little boys who think they're so tall
realise their foolish pride will always cause a fall?
and when will their people's cries for peace finally be heard
above the roar of all those angry words?
